4. Training

The training material contained in these pages provide insights into the concepts of flooding, flood management and resilience in urban contexts as well as the FRC project framework and results. The aim is to make the material intelligible for: members of the public, politicians and other decision makers and professional advisors. In order to do this, the material is tailored for the needs of each group. The material covers the following themes: 

  1. A general introduction to flooding, flood management and the FRC project objectives.
  2. Developing the Awareness, Strategy and Capacity needed within organisations', communities and individual citizens to manage flood risk.
  3. Analysis and assessment of flood risk
  4. Structural and non-structural risk treatment measures for the Alleviation and Avoidance
  5. Risk treatment measures for taking Action and providing Assistance in the run up to, during and after flood events
