3. The flood resilient actions in FRC

These pages describe the actions taken by our partnerships in our own towns and cities to improve resilience to different types of flooding. The scope of our activities includes the management of inland flooding caused by surface water and groundwater; streams and rivers, both small and large; and even the management of coastal flooding and its interactions with inland flooding.

Our actions cover many topics associated with: analysisng and assessing the likelyhood and consequences of curent and future flooding, and the costs and benefits of different treatment options; structural and non structural measures to alleviate current flooding problems and avoid future flooding problems; taking actions to reduce the impact of flooding when it occurs and to assist communities to improve their resilience during flood events and the following period of recovery; Raising awareness, and developing strategies and capacity to improve the flood management process.
